Moments

Moments

Have you ever caught yourself skipping the moments that truly matter.

I have not been able to write since my business has multiplied in the past 4 month like I never seen before. My only spare time I spend it with the 4 people in my life: My wife, my 2 children and the man Jesus.

During the last 3 month I have been so busy with work and sometimes I catch myself worrying about the little insignificant things in life like checking the email, calling people who do not want to be called, visiting clients that maybe do not want me there, instead of worrying about the things of eternity or even about the things that do matter like the family, friends etc...

this Christmas was different and it all played together. I made it my point to give my employees 2 weeks off during Christmas, I gave them bonuses, I invited them to my parties. It was great. But the most important thing this Christmas was the time I was able to spend with my beautiful wife and children since I gave myself a lot of time off too. Not only that, I looked at what t truly matter and planned my days with that in mind. Entrepreneurs sometimes forget that being yourself and carrying for yours is the biggest responsibility you have as a person. Carrying for yours does not mean providing but sharing and giving.

It was so awesome this December that even my wife told me that it was the best Christmas and birthday she has ever had.

This was my secret for her Birthday:

Jessica was a Christmas eve baby. She always got her presents and cake on Christmas. I had to change that. SO I started by taking her to one of my favorite restaurants "Charleston Grill" on December 23rd, we order an appetizer, a bottle of reisling Juan Gallo, a nice meal and there we went. The manager of the restaurant came to us and asked us if we started dating not long ago. We told him we have been married for almost 5 years. He said he has never seen people so in love. Wow, what a compliment.

Jess had to work the following morning so the kids and I wrote her a card and put our hand print all over it and put it with a present on her pillow for when she came home. She was blown away.

More happened but I do not have the time to explain. Maybe later.

My point is, when you have the choice to skip the moment or take advantage of it. I suggest you take advantage of it. I could have been a busy Christmas, but I knew that it was better to slow down, think of what my family and what I truly wanted and made it happen. I believe it should not only be for Christmas but for year round.

Think about it. What's important in life? What can you do to make it better?
